Create, maintain and champion consistent organization, nomenclature and navigational structure across PeopleSoft's network of web sites. This structure facilitates the user's (public, customer, or partner) ability to conduct business with PeopleSoft by directing them to the information they need within the context of their relationship to the company.
Responsibilities of the IA include a functional site architecture that supports business objectives while addressing user goals, understanding user roles and creating appropriate structure and navigation for varied audiences. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team of producers, editors and visual designers, the IA bridges development of a site's visual design with a site's functional requirements.
Responsibilities:
* Define content structure, hierarchy, navigation and tagging standards for top-level elements of a portal environment
* Work closely with editorial, design and production teams to insure consistent site architecture is represented in all aspects of communication on the web
* Define and maintain site navigation
* Define and maintain content attributes/metadata and tagging schemes for a role-based site experience
* Design and maintain multiple controlled vocabularies
* Create and document organizational site concepts and user interface requirements as they relate to the cognitive flow of information
* Coordinate with team members to make sure the visual design and concepts flow with the navigational components of the site
* Prepare and present story boards and IA maps
* Create information design and interaction models for unique site features such as product demos, product tours, and diagrams for online users
* Contribute to overall site user interface
* Work closely with our internal development staff
* Be an advocate for the end user
Requirements:
* Degree in library and information science, human-computer interaction or related field
* At least 2 years information architecture experience, preferably on large-scale sites
* Experience creating wireframes, blueprints, storyboards, and other deliverables to communicate information architecture concepts
* Experience creating visual representations of IA using a tool such as Visio or Illustrator/FreeHand required
* Experience with HTML Editor and/or Dreamweaver a plus
* Project management experience
* Experience with the design and maintenance of large-scale content management systems a plus
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Experience with the optimization, precision and recall of search engines
* Web design experience helpful
