Job Responsibilities
* The successful candidate should be experienced in the areas of Functional Design and/or UI Design for Windows, and able to lead a team of designers in these areas.
* This position title is Information Systems Analyst with the CIS Team.
* Work under the direction of the CIS Manager and collaboratively with all departments
* Will participate in the development, implementation, and maintenance of the Clinical Information System as it pertains to appropriate practice.
* Will work closely with existing CIS team to mentor, and increase their skills in the areas of analysis and design, and specifications and help to establish standard methodologies in these skill areas.
* This is a term limited position for 6-24 months.
Qualifications
MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
Required: Bachelors degree or the equivalent, with a minimum of three years of relevant experience. Prior experience in the analysis and design of software applications. Demonstrated ability to work independently and in a team-oriented environment. Must be self-directed, flexible, and have excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal communication skills.
Desired: Experience in clinical healthcare in a major medical center setting. For example: informatics, nursing, laboratory, medical records, allied health or other licensure/certifications depending upon team responsibilities.
The following requirements are more specific to the actual responsibilities of the ideal individual for this position.
Functional and Interaction Designer (UI) Requirements:
* Strong user orientation
* Experience with Windows UI design
* Familiar with user-centered design principles
* Experience with detailed workflow analysis and redesign
* Familiarity with user feasibility testing
* Excellent written skills, proven experience with writing detailed specifications
* Familiar with Information Architecture principles
* Works closely with the Project Lead, and in-house team designers
* Proven track record of design of professional software products
* Collaborates with and coordinates work of other team members doing design
* Delegates as necessary
* Work with Functional Designer in setting UI standards
* Works closely and collaboratively with developers and other front end designers
Highly Desired Experience in:
* Ability to think abstractly
* Can deal well with metaphors
* Some familiarity with various database design
* Experience designing workflow, and interactive screen design
* Experience creating visual prototyping
* Managing outside contract Graphic Design work
