Usability Engineer, King of Prussia, PA

Our client, a leading E-Commerce company has the following full-time, regular position open on their Usability Team in King of Prussia, PA office. As a member of the Usability Team, you'll spend your time working with our customer-focused product teams at all phases of the product development cycle.

Responsibilities:
* Promote and support User Centered Design processes through all stages of the product development life-cycle
* Responsible for the design and facilitation of lab-based usability studies, field studies and contextual inquiry, focus groups, expert evaluations, brainstorming sessions, survey and questionnaire creation, competitive analysis, and other usability engineering methodologies with both internal teams and external vendors
* Choose appropriate methodologies to identify issues within prototypes, conceptual models and released products
* Analyze and synthesize qualitative and quantitative information, write research and usability test reports, and present the results to the stakeholders
* Provide concrete, prioritized, actionable recommendations to development teams
* Manage test schedules and deliverables
* Work with other user Researchers and UI designers to maintain methodology guidelines and to produce wireframes, iterative prototypes and detailed designs which facilitate the needs of the user
* Work with usability lab recruiters to schedule and specify screening requirements for studies
* Work with product developers, creative team, business managers, and marketers to promote and support iterative, user-centered design.

Qualifications:

Required:
* Advanced degree or equivalent in HCI, Cognitive Science, Human Factors, Usability Engineering or related field. Extensive experience may be considered.
* Minimum 3 years User Research job experience in the areas of gathering user requirements, scenario development, conducting usability evaluations, and questionnaire/survey design required
* Expert knowledge in usability engineering and field study methodologies, specifically designing and conducting usability studies (for both high and low fidelity prototypes), heuristic evaluations, and contextual inquiry
* Proven interview and observation skills
* Proficiency in clearly communicating report results in written documents and presentations
* Strong project management skills
* Excellent collaboration and organization skills Desirable Skills:
* Experience creating authored User interface design standards.
* Conventional technical writing skills.
(Visual Basic and others)
* Proficiency in design and prototyping tools (Photoshop, Visio, Adobe InDesign, Dreamweaver, Visual Basic and others)
* Proficiency in statistics, data analysis, and survey design/administration
* B to C experience highly desired.
