Vodafone Global User Experience Team
Vodafone is seeking User Experience Designers on Freelance base for their User Experience Terminal Specification Team.
The User Experience Designer at Vodafones User Experience Team will apply principles of user-centred design to develop user interfaces for Vodafones mobile products. You will ideally have knowledge of customer tasks, product functionality requirements, user interface architectures, 3rd party and our competitors user interface designs as well as industry interface standards. As a Freelancer you will work with UE Managers and Designers and a product development team to define functional, interface and design requirements for Vodafone live! terminal products.
Freelancers are involved in and should have knowledge of at least two of the following areas:
Concept development
UE Specification + documentation
Visual interface design
Interaction + information design
Prototyping
Project Managing of Sub-Tasks/Work streams
Key Position Accountabilities
Produce design and UE specifications, process flows, storyboards, scenarios, and design prototypes for terminals.
Create, evaluate, and modify low-fidelity prototypes to support development process.
Translate usability findings into product improvements/requirements.
Participate in concept generation activities, including the development of user profiles, user scenarios, use cases, organizational models, task models, prototypes, and feature lists.
Work in multidisciplinary international teams to incorporate user + market research, test findings, technical constrains and input from product managers into UE specifications.
Successfully communicate conceptual ideas, detailed design, and design rationale, both verbally and visually.
Personal Requirements
BA/(Pre-)Diploma or equivalent in Human Factors/ Human-Computer Interaction/ Interaction Design/ Ergonomics/ Information Architecture or a related subject.
Professional work experience designing desktop software or web interfaces. Experience with mobile interfaces a plus.
Communication and organization skills, with the ability to work well in a multidisciplinary + international team setting.
Knowledge of interface design standards and best practices.
2 UE Terminals Specification Freelancer Job Description
Understanding of basic project management practices, such as estimating time/budget + project planning.
Knowledge of concept- and usability testing practices and user centred design processes.
Experience with standard MS office products (Word, Excel, Project) as well as graphical diagramming tools (such as Visio, Illustrator and Photoshop).
Excellent verbal and written English communication skills.
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
A passion for creating products.
Knowledge of rapid prototyping and iterative design processes.
Hard-/Software Requirements
No hard- or software for Freelancers is provided by Vodafone
Hardware: PC Laptop preferred, Wireless LAN access needs to be ensured
Software: MS Visio, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator/Macromedia Freehand, MS Office
(Word, Excel), MS Outlook (or equivalent), MS Project, Web Browser,
Access to an Email Account needs to be ensured
Organizational Requirements
Regular meetings with you in our Duesseldorf offices are required
No travel, accommodation or other costs are covered by Vodafone
Since we are looking for long term relationships with our freelancers, please state how many days
per week and for how long (months) you would be available. Please also state your earliest possible
start date.
Contracts are based on work packages. Please state your daily rate ().
