Computer Art Position
The Department of Visual Arts at Union College, in collaboration with the Department of Computer Science, invites applications for a 3-year visiting assistant professor position in Computer Art, to begin September 1, 2005. Preference will be given to candidates whose work demonstrates a significant engagement with computer-based processes in contemporary art. Candidates should have a track record of work in several of the following areas: digital imaging, video, and graphics; 3-D computer animation and computer-based installation. Candidates should also be able to demonstrate an in-depth understanding of computing and its relationship to contemporary art. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in both departments, covering computer art, computer graphics, imaging, scientific visualization, and play a role in the development of a computer art curriculum. MFA or PhD preferred.
Union College is a small, highly selective liberal arts and engineering college in New York State's Capital Region, three hours from New York City and Boston.
