The Usability Company, the UK's leading usability company, is looking to hear from:
Freelance Information Architects - London
Duration: 4 weeks (possibly longer)
The Usability Company provides services for a range of clients including Camelot, BSkyB, Barclays, First Direct, Microsoft and public sector organisations. We work across all digital platforms - Internet, Mobile, iTV and voice. Information architecture is becoming increasingly important to our clients and some of our projects will require additional resources.
ROLE DESCRIPTION
- Application of user-centered design methodology to ensure positive user experience
- Familiarisation with existing research material and technical specification
- Review and analysis of existing and/or competitors products
- Ability to work with higher management, marketing, design and IT departments
- Card sorting exercises
- Creation of diagrams of site content or features
- Development of navigation systems, wireframes and product prototypes
- Conducting user testing
- Communication and documentation of IA decisions
- Documenting, maintaining and revising functional specifications
- Creation of best practice guidelines
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- A degree in a related field, such as technical communications, human-computer interaction, library science, graphic design, or industrial design
- 2+ years experience developing digital products, such as websites, CD-ROMs, or software
- Experience in client services and negotiating business decisions
- Experience observing user research and translating user research into design decisions
- Ability to work effectively on own or within a team.
This is a project based role but we are looking to make it a permanent one in the future.
