Job Description:
Adobe's Common UI Team is seeking an innovative and seasoned leader in interaction design to develop the next generation of Help user experiences across Adobe's four product segments (Creative Pro, Digital Video, Consumer and Enterprise). This Senior Designer will work closely with various teams within the company to design and evangelize new Help experiences that will make all of Adobe's products easier to learn, easier to use, and will reduce the need for customer support. The Senior Designer will collaborate closely with their Help team members to develop a multi-release vision for Help, and will be responsible for researching, designing, and prototyping the new user experiences they envision. The Senior Designer will work closely with their peers on the UI Team and the individual product teams to drive these new Help solutions into Adobe's product lines.
Knowledge & Skills:
A senior interaction designer that has demonstrated the creativity and initiative needed to fashion and drive a design vision across multiple products. Must be a natural collaborator that prefers to develop designs with others, and must be a passionate user advocate that always strives to be in tune with customers' real needs. Requires a Masters degree in Human Computer Interaction, Product Design, Graphic Design or related field, and a minimum of 5 years experience designing software interfaces. Should have previous experience in instructional design or user assistance design for both shrinkwrap and web based software. Experience working with and incorporating multimedia content into help systems is highly preferred.
Should have in-depth experience with Adobe's products, especially Adobe Acrobat Standard/Professional. A passion for elegant design and for incorporating new and innovative technologies is required. The designer must have experience creating mockups, storyboards, UI specifications, flowcharts, wireframes, and interactive prototypes. Thorough knowledge of both the Macintosh and Windows operating systems is required. Must be a natural diplomat with strong communication, coordination and scheduling skills and be willing to prove themselves within a company of talented individuals. Attention to detail and a good eye for aesthetics are required, along with the ability to grasp and distill highly complex issues.
Familiarity with XML/XSLT, international design issues, or experience designing within a large corporation is a plus.
