Oyster is currently looking for Experience Architects (EAs) to join our expanding team.
We can offer permanent or fixed-term contracts with a competitive salary and benefits package.
Successful applicants will work on a variety of projects to define user experiences that contribute to the client's business needs.
Oyster's EAs are required to:
* Define, understand and empathise with a set of users and their needs – while retaining a sense of adventure in the strategy, concept and detailed design of a user interface;
* Elicit, understand and be sensitive to the business, brand, operational and technology requirements of a client – while retaining the perspective of the end user and challenging the client's expectations from that perspective if necessary;
* Have a flair for usable interface design, have a good understanding of best practice in a wide variety of situations and be able to apply this flair and understanding to the detailed design and specification of a complex website or interface;
* Be aware of the implications and constraints of a wide range of different technologies – while retaining the ability to challenge and overcome those constraints where necessary to deliver a high- quality user experience;
* Be proactive, productive and able to self-start and manage with limited supervision (if necessary) – while instinctively knowing when to ask for critique or help.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Develop an understanding of users and their needs, and document this information; 2. Work with other groups to design the most appropriate user interface strategy to meet the client's business needs; 3. Produce prototypes to demonstrate functional design aspects to the client and to validate the design with end users; 4. Validate and refine the user experience through interactive prototyping and user testing; 5. Specify user interfaces to enable technical teams to build them; 6. Design feedback, data capture and analysis mechanisms for systems to enable future enhancement of user experience; 7. Produce user support systems for administration interfaces (e.g., user documentation, help, training, etc).
If you...
* Have a good-quality education (preferably in a related field e.g. HCI, Information Design etc);
* Have 2-3 years experience in the information architecture field;
* Are enthusiastic, committed;
* Have the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively; ...then Oyster want to hear from you!
