Source: Direct Submission

Company: InContext Enterprises
Position: Interaction Designer
Location: Concord, MA, USA

Do you want to design applications and systems that really meet the needs of users? Are you tired feeling like you are "making it up" because you don't really know what users need? Design from customer data by joining InContext
- the company that created Contextual Design, the full front-end, customer-centered design process. InContext is currently looking for interaction designers who will work on a wide variety of client projects, ranging from applications and hardware devices to websites and internal systems.

Good interaction design begins with understanding how people work on a daily basis. Our interaction designers must be able to see the design implications of existing work practice and envision new interaction designs that will improve the life or work of the end users and meet the business needs of our client. Our interaction designers work in cross-functional teams and participate fully in all phases of the Contextual Design process: field interviews with end users, data interpretation and work modeling, visioning, storyboarding, system design, and paper and proof-of-concept prototyping.

Requirements

. Bachelor's or master's degree in graphic design, fine art, or interaction design . At least three years of user interface design experience, including experience designing applications (client or web-based). Experience designing only web pages does not meet this requirement.
. Experience creating paper and HTML prototypes . Solid understanding of HTML and CSS . Experience with the following (or similar) design software: FreeHand, Dreamweaver, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Flash . Skill in communicating design ideas and presenting to clients . Ability to work quickly under short deadlines, handle multiple tasks, willingness to follow the Contextual Design process once trained, and work in a highly collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment . Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact successfully with end users and clients . Special consideration will be given to candidates with writing skills and/or basic project management skills . Willingness to travel on a regular basis, occasionally on short notice . Living in the greater Boston area is a must
