Research Integrations, Inc. (RII) is currently seeking an experienced and innovative Project Manager / Research Scientist IV to join our team. This person must be a self-starter who enjoys working in a small- multidisciplinary team environment.

Title: Project Manager / Human Factors Research Scientist IV

Position Summary:
The primary purpose of this position is to manage human factors research projects within Research Integrations to ensure that activities are carried out in accordance with established specifications, schedules, and budgets.
This person will also lead and participate in the development and implementation of scientific processes to accomplish human factors research project objectives.

Responsibilities may include:
*Applying advanced knowledge in scientific techniques, procedures, and criteria to manage research projects and accomplish a variety of research assignments, which may include:
-Analyzing existing research to develop applications, including the development of taxonomies to organize information.
-Designing and implementing experiments and data collection protocol.
-Conducting user needs analysis.
-Developing and analyzing user interface design.
-Developing and evaluating training procedures or materials.
*Working with the technical operations manager, the accounting and contracts manager, and the chief scientist to prepare detailed and accurate work estimates and budgets for bid and proposal.
*Developing efficient and effective project work plans, budgets, and schedules. Maintaining a detailed understanding of all commitments to project customers, including contract or task order requirements, limitations, and task deliverable schedule. Monitoring the status of project against plan. Anticipating challenges. Coordinating and implementing solutions.
*Planning and organizing the work of the project team. Working cooperatively with the technical operations manager to ensure effective use of team members’ work time and contributions to all applicable projects.
Ensure work being performed is efficient and effective and products being developed meet or exceed RII's and the client’s standards.
*Maintaining understanding of the project client's industry and emerging technical and industry developments and their potential impact to the client's business and RII project.
*Representing RII with clients and in collaborative work with other organizations. May require occasional travel.
*Identifying and securing new programs, projects and customers.

Qualifications
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
*Extensive knowledge of aviation operations, flight deck systems, and flight training and procedures.
*Extensive knowledge of human factors and human performance principles and their application.
*Strong project management skills.
*Strong computer skills, including knowledge of MS Word, MS Excel, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, Outlook, and the Internet.
*Ability to read, accurately interpret, and apply technical information.
*Ability to prepare meaningful, well-written, technically accurate reports and work products. Consistently express complex ideas (in writing and
verbally) with clarity and meaning in a confident manner.
*Proven track record of leading tasks and/or projects.
*Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information and appropriately deal with sensitive situations.
*Solid understanding of experimental design and data collection.

Education
Master’s degree in an appropriate scientific discipline with at least 8 years of applicable research experience, aviation operations and training experience, and at least 1 year project management experience.

Report to: President/Chief Scientist

Location: Tempe, Arizona
