Usability Engineer (Full-time contract position) Verizon Labs Waltham, MA, USA
Verizon Labs in Waltham MA expects to add one user interface professional to design, prototype and evaluate automated telephone systems. This contract position is full-time and on-site in Waltham, Massachusetts. There are no relocation benefits associated with this position.
Requirements:
o Bachelor’s degree in psychology, product design, interaction design,
information design or a related human-computer interaction subject. A Master’s degree is preferred.
o 1 to 4 years of experience in user-centered design, preferably with
automated telephone systems
o Experience designing prompts and call flows for telephone interactions
o Familiarity with speech recognition issues and technology.
o Ability to work with cross-functional teams
o Excellent communication skills
o Ability to take initiatives
Note: This is a position in a User Centered Design organization.
Programming skills are NOT required.
We work within a 40-member User Centered Design (UCD) Group in Verizon Laboratories. The UCD Group serves as a center of excellence for Verizon's user-centered approach to the definition, design, development, and evaluation of new products and services. Verizon Labs offers attractive facilities in a quiet, wooded setting just outside Boston on the Route 128 loop.
