A Strategic client of A.C.Coy’s is looking for a HCI professional, to join their organization, on a fulltime basis, in Pittsburgh PA. The ideal candidate will have an in-depth knowledge of user-centered design, conceptual design and information architecture of software for interactive applications coupled with deep technical understanding of application development. The candidate will have a strong technical background and the desire to make usability as their top priority.
Specific responsibilities include but not limited to:
Apply user-centered UI design processes and development for software applications.
Create prototypes including UI behaviors, user interaction models and interaction requirements that conform to specified design and content requirements.
Developing screen elements and refining interfaces to ease usability
Act as a recognized and active resource on user interface design issues.
Establish, document, maintain and revise functional specifications.
Work with standards and best practices for interface usability and responding to user testing findings
Qualifications:
A Masters degree in HCI, Human Factors or related area and a BS in Computer Science, formal education in cognitive science
Strong graphic design, storyboarding and rapid prototyping skills in the designer toolkits
Evangelist for usability methods and user centered design
Ability to thrive in a challenging R&D environment - short time frames and iterative development
A minimum of 7 years of industry experience in user interface design experience
Proven track record of implementing user-centered designs
Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills
Salary is up to 110K with full benefits, based on experience.
