Description:

The Senior UX Consultant works within a people-centered analysis, design, and development process to analyze client business and user requirements and to collaborate on solution design, deployment, adoption planning, and assessment. The person in this role works as a collaborative member of cross functional teams to understand users, design people centered user interfaces and targeted adoption materials and approaches. This position serves as an internal and external consultant and coach on user experience methods, best practices, and service offerings. The Senior UX Consultant must be committed to understanding and developing innovative, effective solutions for complex people-process-technology problems in business contexts. This position reports to the Director, User Experience and is considered a leadership position within the User Experience group.

Responsibilities:
Entering the client assignment early, applying focused user research, modeling and assessment techniques to discover and analyze business and user requirements;
Contributing to solution design by planning and conducting iterative user assessments, as well as by defining interaction and user interface designs
Applying user understanding and models to inform online learning/support, deployment and adoption planning; and conducting multifaceted adoption assessments post solution launch to guide continuous improvement.
Discovering, analyzing, and synthesizing business and user requirements from clients, appropriate stakeholders, and end-users, and translating findings into a solid solution model, organization, and design
Developing innovative user experience methods, tools, intellectual capital and reusable assets that improve LDS operational excellence, efficiency, and competitive advantage
Developing company-wide user experience/usability standards and points of reference
Maintaining awareness of best practices and principles in relevant fields including human-computer interaction, technology change management, learning, communications, business and work practice analysis and design, etc.
Requirements:
A minimum of a Master's degree in human computer interaction, behavioral and social sciences (e.g., cognitive psychology, anthropology, etc.), interaction design, industrial design, human factors or a related field.
A minimum of five (5) years in user experience research, design and business consulting (experience with enterprise portals is a plus).
Conducting contextual inquiries, user requirements analysis, and user modeling (e.g., task, process, and work practice modeling)
Planning and executing a range of user assessment methods and tools including iterative user testing, online surveys, web analytics/online behavioral analysis, heuristic analysis, and participatory design exercises
Creating and testing low and high fidelity technology solution prototypes
Designing user interaction models and user interfaces (e.g., templates, wireframes, etc.)
Adoption support planning (e.g., communications, learning, change management, etc.)
Consulting directly with clients to define and work through issues and business problems
Knowledge of both qualitative and quantitative research methods and tools, object oriented analysis and design (OOAD), business process analysis and engineering, prototyping tools (e.g., Visual Basic and DreamWeaver) is a plus.
