Usability Architect
SK-Earthlink is looking for a Usability Architect to join their team in Los Angeles, California.
Job description:
- Formulate strategy on usability architecture
- Build user interface architecture for handset client UI as well as WAP/Web service UI
- Menu design and management for WAP / Web services
- Create user interface flows and develop new concepts based on usability findings
- Perform heuristic evaluations of new wireless terminals (including convergent devices) and applications
- Define handset UI requirements and specifying UI guidelines for development
- Plan and manage usability studies and work directly with product development and marketing to capture user interface requests
- Evaluate product design and suggesting better user experience
- Analyze user oriented usability requirement
- Author and maintain specifications
Requirements:
- Over 3 years experience in UI industry
- Experience in telecommunication and/or wireless industry
- Project experience in designing handset UI
- Industrial design and applied design major preferred
- Deep and broad knowledge in design industry
- Knowledge in design tool and understanding of web/IT development (Drawing S/W, handset S/W, Internet protocol, web service design, etc)
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Industrial design/engineering, User Interface, Applied design, Computer science

UI Designer
Job description:
- Visual Design of handset client UI as well as WAP / WEB service UI
- Evaluating product design and suggesting better experience
- Work with design and engineering teams to iterate on design concepts though implementation
- Plan and manage usability studies and work directly with product development and marketing to capture user interface requests
- Work with technology development to understand the abilities and constraints to make designs work within the realities of available handset/platform technologies
- Produce design collateral
Requirements:
- 5 years experience in UI design with emphasis on visual design
- Project experience in telecommunication and/or wireless industry
- Project experience in designing handset UI
- Demonstrated fluency with design tools and prototyping tools
- Demonstrated understanding of web/IT development (Drawing S/W, handset S/W, Internet protocol, web service design, etc)
- Demonstrated experience designing client-side applications
- Expert knowledge of UI principles
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Industrial design/engineering, Human Computer Interface, Human Factors, User Interface, Applied design, Computer science.

Director, UI Strategy
Job description:
- Manage and develop existing staff and recruit internal and external resources as required to meet project goals
- Manage outside vendor relationships, budgets, and project deliverables
- Analyze, prioritize and distribute incoming work to staff by taking into account team resources and capabilities, required timeframe and budget restrictions
- Ensure assignments are delivered on time and within budget and enforce accountability
- Work collaboratively with other business units to capture requirements and deliver solutions that meet market and technical requirements
- Work collaboratively with design resources from other business units to ensure consistency to the brand
- Strategy formulation on brand/service and terminal UI
- Build UI design guides for mobile terminals (OEM UI and application UI) to create a unified flow of UI throughout the handsets
- Devise WAP/Web Portal UI Strategy
- Setup consistent WAP/Web UI policy
Requirements:
- Over 5 years experience in UI industry
- Experience in telecommunication and/or wireless industry
- Project experience in designing handset UI (creating interfaces for small screens)
- Industrial design and applied design major preferred
- Deep and broad knowledge in design industry
Education:
- Undergraduate degree in Industrial design/engineering, User Interface, Applied design, Computer science
