Faculty Position in Information Science & Technology (Preferred Specialty in Human-Computer Interaction) University of Missouri-Rolla (UMR)
The Information Science & Technology department at the University of Missouri-Rolla seeks to fill a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor position beginning in Fall 2005, Winter 2006, or Fall 2006.
It is desirable that the successful candidate would be qualified to hold a joint position with the Business Administration department. These departments are part of the recently established School of Management & Information Systems at UMR and continue to grow rapidly. Applicants will be expected to be able to teach and carry out research that reflects the School's philosophy of developing students who can bridge the business and technology aspects of organizations. The successful candidate will be expected to play a major role in the development of the new programs. Applicants should be qualified to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Information Science and Technology as well as establish or continue a funded research program. Applicants should have a Ph.D. (or ABD with definite completion date) in Information Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or a closely related discipline. The department is particularly interested in a candidate with expertise in human-computer interaction, enterprise resource planning, or entrepreneurship. However, highly qualified candidates in all areas of Information Science/Systems will be considered. Evidence of teaching, research, and communication skills must be provided.
