Position: Information Architect, WITTMANHART (http://www.whittmanhart.com), Philadelphia, PA
Objective: The Information Architect provides interface design and information mapping that ensures the creative product meets all strategic and functional requirements. The IA is the user advocate, translating client strategy to develop content and functionality that meets both client objectives and user goals. They must collaborate with visual designers and programmers to develop information architecture and user interfaces, and create proposals, functional specification, flowcharts, wire frames and schematics.
Responsibilities:
·Tests site to ensure it is on client strategy and meets the user requirements ― Authors usability testing plans, coordinates testing scenarios, moderates testing sessions ― Creates recommendation documents based on testing observations and results ― Presents, discusses and sells solutions to the client
·Works with creative, technical, development and account services team members to develop site strategies, layout and information architecture ― Develop content plans and flow with Copywriters ― Produces flowcharts and schematics to validate against strategies ― Ensures design technology & interface are developed in accordance with user requirements ― Performs quality inspection of product to ensure content placement and accuracy
·Stays abreast of industry trends in UI and usability and new tools and technologies ·Mentor creative staff on Usability, User-Centered Design, HCI, User Testing and UI best practices
Accountability:
- Recognized quality and effectiveness of user experiences
- Recognized application and impact of usability and human factors insights
- Quality of effort and deliverables recognized by creative and team leadership
