We are currently seeking applicants for the position of full-time Interaction Architect for our offices in Vancouver, BC, Canada.
INTERACTION ARCHITECT
The Interaction Architect maps the entire structure of a site and organizes the positioning of pages within sections, developing a functional and intuitive plan to get users from Point A to Point B using the path of least resistance. This role requires strong analytical skills to manifest thoughtful and intuitive design and find the balance between beauty and functionality.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Participate in strategic planning meetings with clients and multi-disciplinary teams to help define a project's scope and gain an understanding of the audience, client's business goals, key usability principals, technical constraints and future needs
* Ask appropriate questions in planning sessions to extract required information from clients and teams
* Develop a comprehensive site map that anticipates user's paths, logical process flows and demonstrates an understanding of the balance between efficiency and ease of use and the client's business goals
* Work closely with the content strategist to ensure content is scaleable, customizable and / or dynamic and fits into the overall information architecture
* Demonstrate a knowledge and consideration for usability testing and issues when creating site architecture
* When necessary, work with Creative Directors to storyboard functional prototypes or outlines
REQUIRED SKILLS / EXPERIENCE /
* At least one year experience in Internet and/or software UI design and/or architecture combined with project management experience
* A related degree such as Communication Planning and Design, Architecture and/or Library Science
* An understanding of software such as Visio and/or Illustrator for creating site maps and flow charts
* A strong attention to detail and exceptional organization, logic and analytical skills
* The ability to ask appropriate questions and communicate effectively to a broad range of people: designers, executives, business development and technical staff
* The ability to conceptualize the abstract and manufacture the concrete to explain it
