Verizon Labs, based in Waltham, MA, is looking for a senior usability professional to join our team working on the deployment of the next-generation of broadband services. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience in planning, conducting, and communicating results of usability studies (both in the lab and in the field) to project teams and upper management. Telephony, home networking, and/or video experience a decided plus. Some travel will be required (~10%).
Required:
Masters or PhD in human factors, psychology, or related degrees
10+ years of usability experience
Experience with several different usability evaluation methods, including, but not limited to: expert reviews, lab-based testing, low-fidelity prototyping, contextual evaluations, ethnography, needs analysis, requirements gathering, and surveys
Demonstrated ability to plan, execute, analyze, and present results of usability evaluations
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to work well in a team environment
Willingness to get hands dirty by participating in field work
Job is in Waltham, MA
Desired:
10+ years experience in telecommunications or computer networking
Understanding of outside plant installation and maintenance
Working knowledge of home networking and networking protocols
Prior experience with Wi-Fi, security, FTTP, video services
Project planning and/or development experience
