TandemSeven, a leading provider of usable interfaces for complex applications, is seeking Senior and Principal level consultants with a strong Human Factors or User Experience background.
Job Title: SENIOR USER EXPERIENCE ARCHITECT
The ideal candidate must be experienced in applying a user-centered methodology to all aspects of a software, portal or web application design and development lifecycle. This position requires a skilled practitioner with hands-on experience in user research, requirements definition, and interface design, Leadership abilities, project management skills, and client-facing communication experience are a plus. Location is open, though this position will require an unrestricted ability to travel.
Required Skills
* User research planning and execution: usability testing, contextual inquiry, task analysis, field studies
* Requirements definition: gathering and documentation, persona development, use case creation
* User interface design: conceptual interaction models, information architecture, wireframes, functional specifications
* Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, and to create appropriate deliverables
* Able to handle multiple projects and proposals concurrently
* Must be able to travel (non-negotiable)
Background/Experience
* 4 years experience practicing software or web-based UI design, including portal frameworks, preferred
* Experience in designing complex, transactional applications
* Familiarity with both agile and plan-driven development processes and UML desired
* Consulting experience a plus
* Advanced degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or related field a plus
* Experience in Financial Services, Healthcare, High Tech, Manufacturing, Retail or Travel & Entertainment is a plus
* Must be able to supply samples of previous research and design work
* Must have a passion for creating great user experiences through user-centered design
