Sr. Information Architect, Los Angeles
Senior Information Architects will be responsible for developing and documenting the structure of a product. They will define and describe the information relationships and navigation models at the product, screen, and module levels. Information architects will develop approaches to the categorization and hierarchical structure of content or content types.
Role Description:
• Employ user-centered design processes to ensure that information is useful and usable
• Diagram site architectures and user interfaces using site maps and wire frame schematics
• Document display fields and business logic for content management templates
• Audit competitive sites, documenting best practices
• Define use cases/business flows and other functional requirements
• Develop controlled vocabularies and document relationships between terms
• Develop hierarchical classification systems or navigation or other categorization needs
• Create tagging schemes for information access via search, browse, or form filling
• Establish approach to requirements gathering, prioritizing, and tracking
• Establish, document, maintain and revise functional specifications
• Document all levels of prototypes through final specifications to include UI behaviors, user interaction models, workflow, interaction requirements, etc.
Qualifications and Experience:
• 7 years experience developing interactive products as an Information Architect, Interaction Designer, or Experience Designer
• A degree in a related field, such as technical communications, human-computer interaction, library science, graphic design, or industrial design
• Training in most of the following: information architecture, writing, interactive design, and usability
• Web design experience including: HTML, the capabilities of Web browsers across multiple platforms, and new technologies
• Experience with the following: Visio, Word, Illustrator, Photoshop, and various HTML editors.
• 2-3 years experience developing digital products, such as websites, CD-ROMs, or software
• Experience in client services and negotiating business decisions
• Experience observing user research and translating user research into design decisions
• Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills
