This position will be part of a team responsible for improving the quality of an internally developed Mutual Fund Customer Service applications.
Specific assignments may include large projects as well as small enhancements, as prioritized by business needs. Development occurs in a highly collaborative environment that places high value on effective communication skills as this position works closely with the business as well as with IT. Requires coordination of the UI designs with both business owners and developers to come up with the best solution for our customers.
The ideal candidate will have strong practical experience in user centered design, coupled with well rounded technical understanding of both desktop and web application development.
Responsibilities:
create high level and/or detailed storyboards, mockups, and
prototypes to effectively communicate design ideas
work closely with product management team to understand/define
functional product requirements
collaborate with application developers to ensure user interfaces
are implemented correctly within production environments
gauge usability of new and existing products and make constructive
suggestions for change
design user interfaces with the goal of optimizing ease of
learning and ease of use as well as compatibility with existing
applications
designing icons for new enhancements
Requirements:
Demonstrated knowledge of human-computer interaction design
principles with 5=10 years experience
Understand iterative software development principles
Ability to manage multiple activities in a dynamic environment
Familiarity with standard industry user interface platform
guidelines
Microsoft/Windows desktop application development experience
Internet Explorer web application development experience
Adobe Photoshop
Macromedia Dreamweaver
Microsoft Visio
Advanced HTML, DHTML, DOM, JavaScript, CSS
