Job Description
The projekt202 user experience designer is a rare bird indeed. This job requires an experienced GUI designer who is also equal parts investigator, crafty strategist, information architect, usability engineer, convincing communicator and all-around problem eliminator.

General Requirements:
* 5+ professional years of dedicated GUI-design and product strategy experience, with emphasis on requirements gathering, information architecture and interaction design for software applications (not just
informational websites). Portfolio to support.

* Experience leading the UX-design stages of software development.
Ability to work directly with clients, users, project stakeholders and the projekt202 team to gather requirements, wireframe effective solutions, test and iterate upon them, and then communicate the details and benefits of the solutions back to our clients.

* Concrete understanding of UCD, usability and HCI principles and techniques, especially as related to GUI design for desktop, web and wireless applications.

* Amazing analytical skills - ability to identify and communicate clients' usability challenges. Experience performing heuristic evaluations and usability tests, as well as documenting results.

* Ideal candidate will have broad and/or deep knowledge of the capabilities and constraints when designing for these technologies and
media: C++, Java, Web technologies (HTML, DHTML, JavaScript, etc.), wireless devices. Please note: This is not a development/coding position.

* Ideal candidate will demonstrate considerable experience designing for business applications, especially those in the following areas: ERP, content management, CRM, SCM, retail, business process management.


Specific Skills and Experience Required:
* Candidates must have professional work experience in this field (5+
years) -- no exceptions
* Familiarity working from product MRDs and functional specs
* User research, focusing on participatory techniques
* Information architecture
* Application workflow diagramming
* Usability testing
* Wireframing
* Proper usage of GUI controls/widgets
* Documentation of UI standards and interaction specifications
* Excellent and confident writing skills
* Working knowledge of HTML
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, often intense project environment with a ridiculous level of attention to detail
