Well rounded, entrepreneurial, and passionate Usability Consultant required for a fast growing start-up.
Working on behalf of Corporate and Not-for-Profit organisations the successful candidate will:
Manage usability projects from start to finish Liase with clients and present work to them Carry out and write up expert usability evaluations Prepare, conduct and report on usability testing Produce wire frames and sitemaps Research and plan out site structures Gather requirements Work on and deliver parts of sales pitches and proposals Work on developing the consultancies range of usability offerings to clients including training courses.
You will have demonstrable experience of most of the above. If there are gaps your enthusiasm for customer intuitive solutions will shine through.
A minimum 2 years of running and delivering usability projects of L25k+ budgets. You will be working in a young office - free of office politics/tripe - with the chance of profit share after 12 months.....
Salary to L40k Immediate London.
Work with the Usability Manager to support and develop the user experience of this leading ISP's web pages and applications.
Developing and documenting information architecture for our large CMS-managed portal and related applications· Incorporating usability test feedback into architecture and wireframes· Giving recommendations on labels, taxonomy and navigation to design, editorial and ad sales staff· Evaluating potential commercial partners on a usability basis· Maintaining best practice guidelines and communicating them to relevant teams · Working with product managers to ensure that new products and tools are user-friendly· Evangelising usability practice and principles to co-workers· Giving recommendations on web accessibility as outlined in the Disability Discrimination Act· Day-to-day management of usability work schedule
The person we’re looking for will be a middleweight Information Architect with:· At least three years experience as an information architect· Command of a broad range of IA tools and techniques· A strong grasp of best practice in usable design· A methodical and systematic approach to user-centred design· A good knowledge of the web and understanding of how pages are built· An eye for detail and a methodical approach to IA and interface design Ability to laugh
Self-motivated and able to deliver on agreed deadlines Thoughtful and diplomatic when working with others Comfortable working in a team and with all levels of seniority Detail-oriented and focused on delivering the best possible user experience Is comfortable working with creative designers and product managers
