A major health benefits provider in Phoenix, AZ, has a need for a Usability Specialist to work with our customer-facing online product teams and with the I.T. department at identified phases of the product development cycle, to help to build more usable products.
Description:
Responsibilities include defining, developing, leading, analyzing, and reporting on results from usability tests, contextual inquiries, design walkthroughs, paper prototypes, interviews, surveys, metrics review and other usability methods. In addition, this role will be responsible for recommending and managing user interface enhancements for all online projects, ensuring the fostering of a consistent user-experience and establishment of an online brand that is in-line with our overall branding platform.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
·BS or MS in Human Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, Information Science, or related field.
·Minimum three (3) years working experience in usability testing, user- centered design, and/or information architecture related to Web-based applications and transactions.
KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES:
·Knowledge of information architecture, interactive design, user experience design or human factors engineering in the development of large-scale, dynamic Web sites, intranets or web based applications is required.
·Must have experience working with both internal and external Web designer to create usable designs.
·Ability to create wire frames, Web page designs, prototypes, process flows, user scenarios, personas, and user requirements is a must.
·Experience with web metrics and analytics.
·Knowledge of user experience best practice principles.
·Must be able to identify and completely document end-to-end customer use cases.
·Experience administering usability testing with customers, conducting heuristic evaluations, analyzing usability data, presenting findings and recommending design/process improvements based upon industry accepted usability standards.
Effective oral and written communications with technical and non-technical persons throughout the company.
