The Global Service Automation (GSA) team is looking for a strategic leader to direct and manage our User Experience (UX) team. GSA's mission is to deliver problem resolution and customer services - both self-help and assisted support - web services to Microsoft customers. You and your team will be responsible for defining and working with development and content teams to deliver an end-to-end customer experience that enables our customers to solve their own problems and when they can’t, leads them implicitly to other resources they need to assist them. You will bring together and manage three core disciplines in our content delivery and technology organization – product design, usability, and site management for our key sites and services (www.support.microsoft.com, https://premier.microsoft.com, www.support.msn.com ). Your unique contribution will be in bringing a background in UX with a proven track record to build this team and develop an integrated, holistic approach to UX and ensure it is a critical resource throughout our product cycle. You will be able to effectively drive cross-team partnerships as well as effectively lead, motivate, and further develop the potential of your team. You will have proven project management and planning skills, and you will attend to detail while keeping focused on strategic goals. You will be able to successfully manage multiple, simultaneous projects of all sizes and complexity. You will have extensive experience on global web based projects in most or all of the following capabilities: visual design, branding, usability, information architecture, content conversion, HTML production, multimedia, scripting technologies, and taxonomy creation and human factors. You must demonstrate a solid understanding of customer needs across multiple segments (enterprise, developer, consumer, etc.). You will have excellent problem solving skills, excellent communications skills, and a history of helping teams achieve their quality and schedule goals. A BA/BS or master’s degree in communications, graphic design, fine art, information architecture, industrial design, product design, visual communications or human-computer interactions is preferred, plus 5+ years managing user experience professionals and multiple projects.
