Duties And Responsibilities Responsible for defining and implementing Harvard Business School's (HBS) Information Architecture to ensure that all HBS internal and external content is seamlessly integrated and accessible across the enterprise. Areas of responsibility include establishing the architecture, standards, rules, guidelines and procedures for managing taxonomy, metadata schemas, classification, categorization, topic maps, navigation, and search. Ultimately the position is accountable for the ease with which HBS faculty, students and staff can discover, find and retrieve information. This is integrally linked to the relevance, trustworthiness and reliability of the information that is exchanged at HBS.
Required Education, Experience and Skills Post Graduate Degree preferred in Library or Information Science, Human-Computer Interface, or related fields or comparable experience. Strong project management and analytical skills. Proven critical thinking skills and experience in using them to implement enterprise information architectures. Experience in work flow assessment (business analysis), conceptual and logical data and information modeling. Experience with systems and database integration. Significant knowledge and experience with XML and metadata standards, navigation and search, as well as other applicable information services standards and practices. Strong visual, oral and written communication skills. Excellent listener.
