Information Architect @ TechSoup.org (6 month contract)

Are you an information architect with a passion for usability and accessibility? Do you want to use your skills to make a difference in the world? Are you interested in working with fun, creative, talented people who believe passionately in making technology accessible to everyone? TechSoup.org (http://www.techsoup.org) is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to help other nonprofits intelligently adopt technology to better achieve their missions.

We need an information architect to work with our team. This is a full-time, temporary (6-month) position that will play a pivotal role in helping us implement a new CMS and site redesign. Review of applications will begin as they are received. Preliminary phone interviews will be followed by on-site interviews. Starting date is as soon as possible.

What You’ll Do

Context: Enterprise implementation of a new CMS (Rhythmyx by Percussion) and complete site redesign of TechSoup.org

Job responsibilities include:

· Gather business requirements and write discovery documentation

· Design and document functional requirements which you will support with wireframes, use cases and user scenarios for web site and web-based products

· Act as a liaison between business units and the development teams to ensure business needs are adequately met with the technology solutions

· Design and deliver usability testing in a variety of methodologies

· Communicate effectively via project status communications and issues logs.

· Manage change effectively

· Perform limited technical tasks to assist in design or problem solving (i.e., SQL queries, troubleshooting CMS user problems, etc.)

· Write QA test scripts based upon use case scenarios and functional specification

· Assist in QA testing to ensure the built system meets business and functional requirements

Skills and experience required:

· Three years of demonstrated experience documenting user and functional requirements in a web production environment (be ready to supply work samples)

· At least three years of IT or solutions design experience for web sites and web products

· Specific experience with Percussion’s Rhythmyx CMS or other mid-sized enterprise CMS solutions a plus

· Experience in context of full website design / redesign

· Exquisite attention to detail and strong analytical skills

· Highly developed prioritization and negotiation skills

· Excellent oral and written communication skills

· Professional presentation and organization skills

· Easy going personality

· Enthusiasm for supporting the mission of CompuMentor / TechSoup
