Whirlpool Corporation is looking for an information architect with experience in designing and authoring user interface specification deliverables for consumer product software applications. In particular, the final UI blueprint deliverable/s that translate all previously defined information and interaction architecture into detailed specifications which software developers will take and use for building applications.

Background and experience desired:
====================================
- BA/BS or equivalent, (seeking degrees in human-computer interaction, human factors, cognitive psychology, instructional design, or technical communications,)
- At least 2 years of experience as an information architect or interaction architect
- Great meeting facilitation and presentation skills including excellent written, verbal, are required.
-Applied experience with wireframes, task flow models / workflow diagrams, schematics, user scenarios, use cases and a thorough understanding software of software design and development processes for consumer products (microwaves, cell phones, PDAs, etc.)
- a critical eye for detail and the ability to translate interaction architecture into concise, but thorough, UI specifications.
- A thorough understanding of information design concepts combined with strong technical ability, practical skills, creative problem solving skills, as well as a high level of analytical ability is desired.
- Strong ability to collaborate with a cross-disciplinary team to deliver innovative solutions within tight time and resource constraints.
- Ability to articulate user experience and design principles to team members
- Experience in using and applying UML for documentation a plus
- may work remotely, but willing and able to travel to meet with client face to face (up to 1x per month)
