Title: Research Assistant Intern
Usable Products Company is an ease-of-use consultancy based in Manhattan's Greenwich Village. We focus on research and design for mobile telephones. Our clients include LG, Nokia, Motorola, Sprint, Verizon, and Sun. We seek a Research Assistant intern to support the company's usability research and business processes.
This internship is an entry level opportunity for someone who wants to learn about usability as a practice and as a business. Our office is comfortable and professional, yet casual.
Duties will include:
- Scheduling usability interviews and focus groups with members of our panel.
- Scheduling appointments with the press and clients for the firm's Principal.
- Editing of documentation and deliverables prepared by usability analysts and the agency Principal.
- Administrative responsibilities in the office like replenishing supplies, organizing equipment, and filing.
- Managing business contacts for the agency's Principal.
Additional opportunities for those candidates with appropriate skills and/or experience:
- Visual design for our Web and print collateral and deliverables.
- Research planning.
- Market research activities.
Term
- 90 days starting in June.
Requirements for applying for this position:
1) Enthusiastic and articulate telephone personality.
2) Educational background in research or usability is desired, but is not required.
3) Excellent oral and written communications skills.
4) Basic computer skills, such as familiarity with Microsoft Word and ability to do research on the web.
5) Applicants must already have housing in New York City metropolitan area.
6) Applicants must be legal to work in the US.
