Job Description: Progressive offers a fantansic opportunity for an experienced UI Software Designer to lead the redesign for our next generation call center application. Progressive embraces innovation and is looking for the unique professional that has the vision and know-how to create the ideal “cockpit” for our savvy phone and processing representatives. The UI Software Designer will lead this business critical project through its full life-cycle working collaboritively with many areas of the company. This is a new position within the Online Service team, a group comprised of industry-leading technologists, experience designers and usability professionals that enjoy a fun, creative, fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
>Leadership role in the design of a new call center application for use
>by
over 3,000 reps
>Works closely with business peers to understand and document required
workflows and system dependencies
>Investigates the users’ interaction with the current application and to
conduct user interviews
>Translates users’ needs into visually robust requirements; e.g.,
flowcharts, user scenarios, site maps and wireframes
>Creates prototypes and validates designs through usability studies and
direct interaction with users
>Creates screen designs and specifications for implementation and
>quality
assurance
>Works collaboratively with IT peers during application development
>Supports training material development for the new application
>Documents UI standards for future development Monitors application
>performance and makes necessary enhancements Designs innovative
>customer-facing Web user experiences beyond the call
center application
Requirements:
>5+ years experience in software application design or in designing
>5+ highly
complex transactional web sites (e.g. online banking, online reservation
systems)
>Strong portfolio that includes detailed page schematics, interaction
>flow
diagrams, site maps, and wireframes
>Proficient in HTML (XHTML and CSS a plus) Experience leading complex
>projects with little or no guidance Comfortable analyzing site usage
>metrics and creating reports Effective communicator Highly-organized
>and detail-oriented Enjoys working in a team environment
