JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Undergraduate degree in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology or Computer Science with a focus on Human Factors Engineering and/or Undergraduate degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, or equivalent field of study with some Human Factors experience. Masters Degree preferred.
Experience with Usability Engineering required. Knowledge of HTML helpful.
Expertise in two or more visual prototyping tools(Microsoft, PowerPoint, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Visio, Adobe Acrobat, etc.) required.
Six years of progressive experience in equivalent position preferred.
Travel required.
SKILLS:
Proven understanding and experience with web technologies, interface interaction design, User Centered Design testing techniques and methodologies.
Proven skills in information synthesis. Have the ability to take usability testing data and/or business requirements to create solutions that meet both customer and user needs.
Proven understanding and experience of providing alternative technical solutions for complex interface issues.
Proven experience mapping interface solutions to technical solutions
Excellent visual design skills; must be able to provide visual design examples, for example, web site design, web page layout, typography, icon development, corporate identity and branding.
Expert knowledge of user profiling, task analysis, scenario development, user interface design, and usability evaluation methods
Proven user interaction design skills, usability testing, and data/interface evaluation experience
Proven ability to design, guide, and implement User Centered Design research studies
Ability to communicate usability and visual design principles to all levels of the organization
JOB SUMMARY: With full competency, formulates and defines system scope and objectives through research and fact-finding to develop or modify complex information systems. Devises and modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations, operating time, and form of desired results. Prepares detailed specifications from which complex programs will be written. Analyzes and revises existing system logic difficulties and documentation as necessary. Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications systems analysis activities.
RELATIONSHIP: Manager/Director
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepares detailed specifications and logic flowcharts for the development and implementation of complex application programs and modifications.
2. Analyzes complex application systems issues and provides technical solutions.
3. With full competency, analyzes systems requirements and existing business processes and information systems and develops cost-effective information technology solutions.
4. With full competency, serves as liaison between application systems and business customers for the development of new system processes and application programs.
5. Drafts complex systems requirements and scope documents.
6. Participates in complex application systems analysis projects. Assists in the planning of projects, establishment of priorities and the monitoring of progress. Assists in resource planning.
7. Performs other duties as assigned.
