Information Architect / User Interface Designer PayPal is looking for an Information Architect to formally define the site structure, and create site maps establishing global and local navigation.
The qualified candidate will work both independently and alongside other design team members to shape the future of online payments. Excellent written and aural communication skills are a must, along with solid visual presentation skills. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
Roles & Responsibilities:
•Create appropriate hierarchies, groupings and juxtapositions which represent the relationships between pages and content within the site, including international considerations •As an information architect, this person will be responsible for creating site maps, wireframes, workflow diagrams, controlled vocabularies, labeling systems, nomenclature schemes, taxonomies and navigation structures •As a designer, the candidate may create user task and interaction flows, screen designs, user-interface interaction details organized into user interface specifications •Work with the content team to assist with content inventories and audits •This person will work closely with user research team members to better understand the user, test the usability of features and conceptual designs •Should have practical experience employing user centered design methods •Keep abreast of enhancements to the science of information architecture
Position Requirements:
•At least 5 years of solid industry experience designing GUI’s for websites and web applications, at least 3 of which have been dedicated directly to an Information Architecture role, with demonstrated track record of appropriate deliverables (controlled vocabularies, nomenclature schemes, taxonomies, etc.) •Advanced degree in Human Computer Interaction, Design, or other related discipline •Must possess a solid working experience with appropriate design tools including Photoshop, Illustrator, Visio, etc., as they related to documenting architectures, navigation schemes, taxonomies, etc.
•Should have experience with international and localization design considerations •Strong communication, analytical and interpersonal skills working within cross-functional teams a must •Portfolio required
Preferred but not required:
•Experience designing payment solutions for consumers and businesses •Ability to rapidly prototype designs in hand-coded HTML
