POSITION TITLE: Interaction Designer for Network Personalization (includes RSS)

DURATION: Full Time

JOB DESCRIPTION:
Yahoo! is looking for an Interaction Designer with strong visual design skills to join the Yahoo! Network Personalization group. You will be responsible for setting the standard for personalization and subscription services across the Yahoo network, working heavily with RSS technology and concepts. In this position you are expected to foster and support a collaborative, innovative culture, working closely with other members of the interaction design team, visual designers, user research, product managers, and technologists to define the experience strategy, spearhead the value of user centered design and the conceptual design of these services to achieve maximum user experience results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Apply the user-centered experience design practice to Yahoo!
Subscription and personalization products
* Develop, evaluate, iterate and implement high quality detailed UI
specifications and visual designs for complex projects, including use
cases, flow diagrams, wireframes and final documentation
* Generate UI systems that advance the UED and business objectives
and success metrics
* Ensure design specifications meet the strategic goals of the
product teams and ensure products are deployed according to design
specifications
* Incorporate UED guidelines, business requirements and corporate
goals into design solutions
* Work with usability researchers to design test plans and prototypes
and to iterate designs throughout user testing
* Translate usability research finding into design improvements
* Work with junior visual designers to improve and refine visual
design and consistency
* Proactively communicate status and updates to relevant stakeholders
throughout UI process

QUALIFICATIONS:
* At least 5 years experience in interaction design, visual design or
related area
* Prior experience as a key member of a UI team contributing to
product development cycles of successful web site launches and
software application products
* Ability to solve complex issues as well as supply technically
viable design alternatives
* Capacity to review the work of junior interaction designers and
provide guidance
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* Able to collaborate with others in a cross-functional team and
foster a positive collaborative environment
* Methodical, detail oriented, efficient, organized, self-starter,
highly productive
* Able to work in a fast paced and dynamic environment and meet
deadlines
* Familiarity and/or previous experience working with RSS
