Interface Designer, Insight Product Development - Chicago
Insight is currently seeking an interface designer to join our team in making complex medical, industrial, and consumer products straightforward and delightful to use. The designer we seek is passionate about design and usability, creative, extremely articulate (both verbally and visually), and meticulous beyond belief.
Specifically, we are looking for a talented individual who can:
. Identify user needs, goals, and challenges through investigative methods and task analysis . Develop interaction architectures and frameworks that logically relate content and functions to user tasks . Create visual designs that communicate product function, including the design of hardware control panels, screen layouts, icons, typography, and interface elements . Create mockups and high-fidelity interactive prototypes for concept validation and usability testing . Produce comprehensive design specifications, use scenarios, and concept storyboards that detail design solutions and rationale
QUALIFICATIONS
Qualified candidates must have at least 3+ years experience in interactive product design and development and possess the following characteristics:
. Exceptional visual design talents applicable to a wide range of contexts . Superb problem solving skills and information design abilities . Understanding of usability engineering and interface design principles . Excellent communication and documentation skills . Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team . Command of design tools including Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Flash and HTML (Expertise in Director or ActionScript is a plus) . Strong interpersonal and client management skills
