Want to shape the face of Information Lifecycle Management? We are looking for a hands-on Design Manager who has a passion for designing innovative, visually appealing human interfaces. You will drive our customer-centered designs throughout the project lifecycle - from concept to prototyping to implementation. Experience in the design of extremely complex applications or appliances is a plus. Enterprise Application experience gets you a gold star. Ready for a challenge? Responsibilities:
* Day to day Team management & direction
* Plan, schedule, coordinate & communicate Interaction Design work coming into & out of the studio
* Coach Team on planning and conducting User Research
* Review mockups and prototypes and validation plans with Interaction Designers
* Feedback & review user interface specifications and ID Deliverables
* Work closely with engineering managers to implement visual and interaction designs throughout the product development process, you will own your UI's
* Drive the adoption & definition of platform standards across applications
* Act as the "glue" that holds a UI Team together via one on ones, consistent feedback, inspiration & all professional development activities
* Mentor all Interaction Designers in both Interaction Design and Career Development
* Have an eye on the stars but operate tactically to get what users need, evangelize good UI Design
Qualifications:
* Able to quickly analyze problems and suggest appropriate solutions in many settings
* Ability to communicate and advocate for results via conversation, design and writing
* Proven ability to take complex problems and design elegant simple solutions, OS experience a plus
* Acceptable in Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Dreamweaver, Flash, and/or other graphic "standard" applications
* Advanced Degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Usability Engineering, User Interface Design, Cognitive Psychology or equivalent related experience or alternate degree
* Well-versed in Usability and Human-Computer Interaction research
* Proven success with over 8 years practical design experience; at least 4 of the 8 years in Management in either software or web applications
* Knowledge of both software and web technologies (XML, XSL, Flash, Swing, VB, HTML, DHTML, JSP, etc.)
* In-depth knowledge of cross-platform and cross-browser compatibility issues
* A highly technical mind that loves complex problem solving

* Articulate, ultra-creative, can do attitude, great sense of humor, proactive, a generalist.
* Nurturing without smothering, mostly "hands-off" but knows when to step in and be "hands on"
*Understands how to inspire creative people and teams
