Source: CHI-Jobs

Have you ever wanted to change the world? Well, here’s your chance. We’re looking for someone who’s skilled, practical, enthusiastic, and resilient. Someone who jumps out of bed in the morning wanting to make one thing just a little bit better.

If you like listening, talking, thinking, writing, designing, learning, organizing, negotiating, travelling, and hanging out with some like-minded individuals, read on.

Hummingbird’s Product Design team is seeking contract and full time Product Designers for our Hummingbird Enterprise content management and records management solutions. You’ll be working directly with customers, Product Management, R&D directors, and other stakeholders to guide the product’s direction. You’ll be heavily involved with the product’s design early in the software development cycle. And you’ll be honing the user-centred design and evaluation principles you’ve learned in previous positions.

You’ll visit customers, listen to their needs, and build personas, requirements, and key path scenarios, and then translate these into usable, and innovative product design. You’ll move seamlessly from conceptualizing complex systems to the minutiae of detailed interface designs.

You can talk technical when needed, but your prime directive and raison d’etre is thinking and designing software from the user’s perspective.

Knowledge, Education, and Experience:

Bachelor or Master's degree in Human Factors, HCI, Psychology, Industrial Design, Technical Writing, Computer Science or related field or an equivalent combination of education and job experience.
3-5 years experience designing Windows, Outlook, and web-based applications
