Introduction: The KOHL Group is providing permanent placement services for the User Centered Design organization within a global developer of advanced imaging systems.
Our client is looking for a Sr. Industrial Designer to join their Corporate Design & Usability organization in Rochester, NY. This individual will report to the ID unit manager for DFIS – Digital Capture products and will be responsible for industrial design development of DFIS – Digital Capture digital imaging products and product concepts from inception to production. Will work as a member of product teams, providing direction and specifications for robust and innovative solutions relating to all aspects of product appearance and user interaction. Involvement will include: research to assimilate product needs; creative development and communication of ideas through 2D, 3D and electronic media; direction of others in fabrication of prototypes; recommendations to product teams regarding manufacturing processes, finishes, color, graphics application, and other industrial design related issues; verbal and written reports to product team supervision and management; and interaction with a wide spectrum of consultants and specialists both inside and outside the company
Required Skills/Experience:
-Must have online portfolio to submit along with resume.
-Strong, well-documented foundation and experience in all I.D. processes and methodology.
-Demonstrably high level of talent for creativity and innovative problem solving.
-Proactive and self-starting. Capable of working independently and effectively with minimal supervision.
-Outstanding interpersonal skills, with interest and ability to work as an effective contributor in a team environment.
-Solid background in, and understanding of, major manufacturing processes and techniques.
-Ability to communicate effectively – verbally and through drawing, rendering, drafting, and writing skills.
-Demonstrable experience and expertise with Macintosh or Windows computers and design-related software.
-Experience using any variety of CAD hardware and software.
