POSITION TITLE: Sr Market Researcher/Application User Experience (Code PT)
DURATION: Full Time
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Looking for an expert in conducting small sample, qualitative market research studies to assess the perception, attitudes, and appeal of Oracle applcation user interfaces. This person will be responsible for determining the appropriate methodologies and must have a creative ability to develop new research methodologies when traditional studies fall short. This person will be conducting qualitative market research studies to provide strategic guidance for Oracle application interfaces. This person will collaborate with cross-functional teams, interaction designers and user researchers to identify research objectives, metrics, and success factors to support business goals as it relates to user interface design.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Recommend, design, develop, and apply market research techniques to assess the visual design, interaction, and usability of new application interfaces.
* Gather, analyze and present qualitative data to provide strategic insight on user interface features, designs and technologies.
* Conduct competitive analyses to identify key differentiators and make actionable recommendations.
* Propose and define strategic initiatives based on research findings to senior management and product teams.
* Develop innovative data collection techniques
* Educate and mentor user researchers on market research methodologies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
* 5+ years of experience in qualitative market research for B2B or B2C companies; high tech or software development company a plus
* Must have extensive experience with various market research techniques to assess customer satisfaction, customer segmentation, visual appeal, brand perception, and usage pattern
* Must be an expert in focus group, projective techniques, ethnography, in-depth phone interviews, and survey design.
* Must have proven qualitative market research skills
* Skill at seeing the tactical and strategic implications of research findings
* Strategic thinker with an analytical and creative mindset
* Expert in designing and executing consumer research studies
* Quantitative market research skills and experience using statistical analysis tools, such as SPSS or SAS are a plus.
* Knowledge of or willingness to learn usability and human factors research methodologies
* Knowledge of enterprise software and development process a plus
* Experience conducting international studies is a plus
* Ability to work under a fast paced and dynamic enviroment
* BA in market research, marketing, psychology, statistics or other related field; Master's degree preferred
