JOB DESCRIPTION:
Oracle is the world's largest supplier of database software. Oracle software is the world's favorite solution for fully distributed computing. Our products drive applications for sales and e-marketing, accounting, human resources, and manufacturing.
We are looking for a talented user interface design manager to lead a team of interaction designers and information architects. You will drive a user-centered design process to define a strategic design direction for complex, Web-based business applications. Your team will be working closely with Application Strategy, Development and Sales.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Lead and manage a team of interaction designers and information architects, overseeing their work, and ensuring that they pursue the highest quality user experience design and engage in the best practices of their professions.
* Work with Application Strategy, Development VPs and other user experience strategy managers to define user research and product design strategies, product definition and a superior enterprise application user experience.
* Work closely with protoype engineers on rapid prototyping and proof of concept initiatives
* Drive an innovative and out-of-the-box approach to designing compelling enterprise applications
* Ensure that proposed design solutions are strategic, visually compelling and demonstrate thought leadership
* Define and prioritize design schedules and allocate appropriate resources to various projects and initiatives
* Ensure successful knowledge sharing among Application User Experience team members.
* Mentor and grow a team of interaction designers and information architects
QUALIFICATIONS:
* Excellent track record of out-of-the-box thinking and innovative design
* Expert in Interaction Design and Information Architecture with many years of successful experience in software development.
* Experience in leading and managing a multidisciplinary team of user experience design professionals.
* Strong leadership skills and proven experience in managing a User-Centered Design process throughout product lifecycles.
* Thorough understanding of User-Centered Design practices and principles, and substantial practical experience in their application.
* Excellent communication and organizational skills.
* Demonstrate strong domain knowledge in enterprise software.
Knowledge of PeopleSoft and/or Oracle a plus.
* Skilled at rapid prototyping, including the use of HTML editors and graphics programs. Experience with Web technologies such as HTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Willingness to learn new technologies.
* Experience working for companies that develop Web-based Applications for business.
* Experience in the interaction design of enterprise business applications required
* A passion for bringing the user’s perspective into the design and development process.
* Masters degree in Human-Computer Interaction or a related discipline.
