The associate will help formulate the navigation, functionality, organizational structure, page-to-page flow and design of the Intermediary website and e-mail program. Primary responsibilities include working in a team environment to determine functionality and navigation solutions for the websites; create wireframes and develop categorization, nomenclature and site maps using Visio or related tools; create or assist in prototype development; participate in research efforts to create and conduct usability tests; and support the lead designer on selected graphic design assignments as required.
A minimum of 2-3 years of information architect experience for a large and complex website with a diverse user base, wireframe and prototype development/documentation, and application of site usage data is required.
· Broad understanding of the Web and associated technologies, a strong sense of Web design style and solid graphic design skills, and proficiency with software tools such as Visio, Dreamweaver, Photoshop and Quark Xpress to create wireframes and prototypes, and HTML are necessary.
· A proactive individual with strong oral and written communication skills including documentation and collaboration abilities, detail orientation, excellent organization and analytical and problem-solving skills is required as well as the ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with a high level of service orientation.
· Knowledge of template-driven websites using a content management system and databases is highly desired as well as an understanding of back-end development processes, issues and solutions.
· Degree in human/computer interaction, library/information science, information and visual design and/or technical communications is preferred.
