OVERVIEW
--------
The Information Architect is responsible for shaping highly effective and satisfying user experiences that are strategically centered in client business goals. The Information Architect plays a vital role throughout the entire site development process, helping to define user needs during Discovery, and strategizing and prioritizing the functionality and content necessary to address those needs during the Development and Deployment phases. He/she works closely with Art Directors, Designers, Copywriters and Technologists, providing tools (such as work flow diagrams, site maps, wireframes and behavioral specs) to guide them through the Development phase.

ACCOUNTABILITIES
----------------
• Gather and document user requirements.

• Lead meetings, discussions, requirements gathering sessions, etc with project stakeholders.

• Provide written and visual documentation to communicate functional and interface requirements for creative and technical teams. This includes persona-based scenarios, use cases, site maps, work flow diagrams, wireframes and behavioral specs.

• Help develop and specify success metrics to demonstrate site effectiveness.

• Build and foster relationships with the client, ensuring their understanding of the role of User Experience, as well as their own involvement in the development process.

• Identify opportunities to validate design work through user testing (including formal and informal usability testing, focus groups, online surveys, etc.).

• Work closely with creative and technical teams to ensure understanding of interface and process flow issues.

• Work with project team throughout Development and Deployment stages to ensure quality assurance.

• Work with the Project Manager to ensure all deliverables and deadlines are met within budget.

• Collaborates with other creative staff to share learning and experience and to establish initiatives that will improve the company's creative product.

REQUIREMENTS
------------

--Must possess at least 3 years experience in User Experience / Information Architecture position within an interactive advertising or marketing agency (this is a mid-level position—salary will be commensurate with experience).

--Proven experience in creation of visual task flows and interface documentation. Portfolio necessary

-- 4 year college degree (degree in human-computer interaction, information design, instructional design) OR equivalent 2-3 years experience with interface design for medium to large-scale projects.

-- Solid knowledge of Visio; experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Word, Excel PowerPoint.

-- Familiar with web technologies and their impact on user experiences

-- Strong verbal and written communication skills

-- Must be an active team member who takes initiative, can organize and complete tasks with minimal supervision (but who is a great collaborator), and is capable of managing competing project demands in a real-world environment
