Summary of Job Duties
Reporting to the Director of Product Management, User Experience - the individual will work with various project teams to shape the next generation web based software used by our customers. This person will join the User Experience team, working to improve the usability and desirability of the suite of applications in collaboration with Product Management and Development.
This individual will work directly with user experience, product management and engineers to review and update the current user interfaces and work to develop go forward user interface strategies for new product modules. The person must be able to translate market objectives, business specifications, functional specifications, and branding into the designs in order to ensure the organizations key objectives are met.
Additional responsibilities will include:
Reviewing and analyzing current interfaces and driving improvements Creating storyboards, mockups, wireframes, and use cases as design specifications during the pre-development and development process.
Designing from contextual and usability research Designing from user persona profiling, process, work and task analysis Creation of site strategy models Developing a corporate style guide May also include supervision of intermediate level designers.
Attributes and Skills
Ability to envision and quickly design/prototype from user data and functional requirements.
Evangelist for user-centered design techniques and processes Demonstrated understanding of design integration, typography and interactive interface design Understanding of enterprise software applications and the market Solid research, technical and visual design skills Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage work to project timelines Ability to work independently and as part of a team Working knowledge of Java and graphic design tools Familiarity with Section 508 and accessibility regulations
Experience and Education
BA/BS in behavioral science or closely related discipline. Related fields include but are not limited to: Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors, Psychology, Interface Design, and Computer Science.
Minimum 7 years interactive experience Proven track record of implementing user-centered designs Successful in demonstrating value of usability research, theories and methodologies; especially user-centered design processes, to product teams Experience in gaining active end-user involvement in the specification, design, and implementation phases.
Proficiency in PhotoShop, Illustrator, HTML development tools, flash motion development, etc.
