ALEKS Corporation, an Educational Software Publishing Company, with cutting edge technology, seeks a creative, talented, and motivated interface designer/information architect with a passion for usability to design intuitive interfaces and perform other related activities in support of ALEKS software products and the ALEKS website. ALEKS is an automated assessment and learning system delivered on the World Wide Web.
The candidate must have 4-5 years of user interface design, information architecture, and usability testing experience for websites and web-based applications.
The candidate must also have:
· A strong background in human factors and a deep understanding of web and software usability principles.
· Experience conducting a variety of types of user research, including usability testing, contextual inquiries, card sorting, and task analysis.
· Experience creating wireframes, site maps, and design documentation.
· Expert knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, HTML, and CSS.
· Excellent communication, analytical, and organizational skills
Technical writing skills and experience, and ability to write clear instructions for both young students and adults, are a plus.
You will work closely with business stakeholders, visual designers, software engineers, and content writers to design new interfaces and enhancements for existing products. Must have experience creating interfaces that successfully meet business requirements and user needs in an intense, fast-paced environment.
A Bachelor’s degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Human Factors Engineering, Graphic Design, or a related field is desired. Candidates with a degree in another field must have at least five years of experience in a user experience or interface design role.
