The technology organization within TLR is a centralized unit providing shared software and services to TLR business units across the globe.

The Online Services department has an opening for a Manager - User Experience Engineering (UXE) – Global Product Design. Online Services provides software for multiple product lines in the form of user interface, end-user applications, a middle-tier framework, and publishing systems. The services provided include product design, product building, application development consulting and content and publishing expertise.
POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
This position will be responsible for developing complex programs of work in usability research and user interface design for individual projects and across multiple related projects and products, as well as managing the infrastructure necessary to support such work.
* The planning, leading, coordination, and administration of UXE projects and resources
* The planning, development, and maintenance of infrastructure necessary to support UXE within Global Product Design (GPD)
* Providing user interface design and usability research on product development teams as needed
* Manage intake of service Requests
* Provide production planning of staff resources
* Provide strategic planning and consultation for projects
* Project management and production work for usability research and user interface design projects as needed
* Provide leadership, collaborate on, and support business relationship development and business generation activities
* Define and document vision for UXE within GPD
* Partner with GPD management to design and implement strategies and programs aligned with corporate strategic goals
* Develop new UXE services and institute continuous improvement of existing services
* Administer professional development plans to support all services
* Provide training and mentoring for UXE staff and business partners
* Initially, this position will manage the work activities of 2-3 contractors. Over time, will manage a small team of up to 3 employees.
* Conduct outreach activities
* Develop and maintain vendor relationships for support in research and design activities
* Establish a corporate resource for best practices in user research and user-centered design
* Contribute to related best practices in product development

REQUIREMENTS:
* Bachelor’s degree in relevant field required. Relevant graduate degree preferred.
* Advanced knowledge of human-computer interaction
* Expertise in specific user interface design and usability research methods
* Demonstrated experience in planning and delivering professional services for complex projects
* Proven leadership, organizational, and communication skills
* 5+ years experience in software product development and User Experience Engineering
