Help us change the way people use the internet to plan and book their travel! We are looking for a strong leader, who can think strategically while delivering on the needs of the business. You will be responsible for growing and managing a User Experience and Design group for Travel, one of
the fastest growing properties. The group?s charter is to define and
design the user experience for company’s Travel, working closely with Product Management and engineering.
Responsibilities:

* Work with technologists and business strategists to define the future of Travel
* Provide direction and vision to your team of visual designers and interaction designers and deliver world-class products
* Inspire, excite and motivate your team and key stakeholders
* Foster and support a collaborative, innovative culture
* Work across the company to determine common practices and standards
* Apply user-centered experience design practice and advocate the users?
perspective
* Oversee multiple projects simultaneously from planning to launch
* Define priorities and manage resources as appropriate across projects
* Manage and mentor designers: performance reviews, compensation and career growth

Qualifications:
* Management experience: At least 8 years total experience, with a minimum of 5 years managing a large design team with company-wide impact. Must have managed an organization of at least 5 people with various skills, and must have experience supporting multiple projects simultaneously. Proven track record in delivering world-class products.
* Design experience: Background in product design, interaction design, Human Factors, HCI, information design, or related field. Must be well versed in all areas of UI design with a history of creating elegant and effective user experiences. Solid understanding of the design of Web applications and services. Need to have superb information design sensibility and a sound understanding of how to leverage user research
effectively. Experience working on products that contain advertising is
ideal.
* Vision: proven experience rallying people behind a vision and ability to innovate
* Quality: Demands and delivers world-class design, has incredible eye for detail
* Communication: strong analytical and oral communication skills; excellent interpersonal and leadership skills; able to collaborate effectively with others in a cross-functional team
* Leadership: Must know how to inspire people, motivate and reward them; be able to make tough decisions and address issues in a timely manner; use good judgment to know when to fight a battle and do it well and when to hold back.
* Scope: Must have experience shipping products for large consumer audiences and be used to working on many products simultaneously
* Process: Must understand user-centered design and product development processes, and use these effectively. Must be organized and able to switch rapidly between different projects in an exciting and fast-paced environment.
