Description:
SAS, the world leader in business intelligence and analytics software, is searching for the newest member of the User Experience team. You will create, execute, analyze, and report on usability and user research for current and future versions of SAS software; work with a team that works closely with SAS users and field staff to understand customer perception of existing products, as well as proposed new products; and work closely with marketing, user interface designers, and development to influence the design of SAS software.
Included among your duties is conducting various types of research on current and future products, which includes site visits, surveys, concept testing, and/or focus groups; communicating results to stakeholders; helping to drive important new features through the development cycle; communicating and driving the resolution of usability problems discovered in testing or other research; championing a consistent and usable interface overall; and performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications
* A minimum of four years of experience conducting usability and user research within the software industry. ( The level of this position will be determined based on the applicant's education, skills and experience.)
* Experience in ethnographic, concept testing, usability testing, and/or benchmarking methods.
* Bachelor's degree in psychology, anthropology, HCI, interaction design, human factors, industrial engineering, or a related field.
* Thorough knowledge of UCD process.
* Strong understanding of GUI design concepts and emerging technologies.
* Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
* Excellent interpersonal skills.
* Proven ability to add value at different stages throughout the software development process.
* Ability to take initiative and to quickly learn new practices and technologies.
* Ability to work independently, as well as with a team.
Preferences
* Experience in data mining or other enterprise-class applications.
* Advanced degree in psychology, anthropology, HCI, interaction design, human factors, industrial engineering, or a related field.
Additional Information
Directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience may be considered in place of the above requirements.
