Leading mobile operator currently looking for a number of interaction designers as detailed below:
Position: Handset Interaction Designer
Location: Berkshire, UK
Contract Type: Full-time
Start: ASAP
Salary: Excellent salary and class leading benefits
Description of Duties: - Ensure that relevant handset vendors deliver the agreed UI strategy.
- Support Product Manager in interface to handset manufacturers.
Job Description: Responsibilities
Main point of contact for designated handset vendors regarding handset interaction.
Work closely with handset vendors to ensure that detailed screen flows are intuitive, a good user experience and will drive revenue for the company Ensure that designated handset vendors effectively deliver strategic UI initiatives to market. Work may include focus on handset desktop applications, presence, media players, content download, contacts management and messaging, mobile TV, imaging etc.
Support the timely delivery of handsets to market, whilst ensuring that:
Detailed information architecture, Use Cases & Usability, Wording & prompt validation, Error messages: ensure that they will make sense to the customer.
Global coordination and collaboration, regarding requirement capture from markets, discussion and feedback from vendors.
Operational Experience
Min 3 yrs experience of user interface design and implementation.
Experience of managing 3rd party vendors and suppliers.
Demonstrable record of delivering innovative interface solutions to improve user experience.
Understanding of interaction architecture and an aesthetic sensibility.
Personal Characteristics
Creative thinker Essential
Self starter who is patient and thorough with good attention to detail - Essential.
Ability to multi-task whilst under pressure - Essential.
Passionate about design and usability - Essential.
Academic Background
Design or relevant UI degree or equivalent relevant experience - Essential.
