SUMMARY

The Oracle Collaboration Suite User Experience Team is seeking a
Usability Engineer to help design and test a next-generation product
that takes an innovative approach and ties together the many tools
involved in collaboration to help people focus on their tasks rather
than on the tools they use. The Oracle Collaboration Suite User
Experience team strongly believes that usability is not an afterthought,
but rather, an area of expertise that can inform the product development
cycle from start to finish.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The successful candidate will:

Develop and lead user testing to rapidly validate product concepts using
a variety of methods applied as appropriate for the goals of the test.

Analyze and evaluate competitive products to understand user expectation
and usability.

Participate in field research, including contextual evaluations &
customer site visits, survey creation, distribution and analysis, lo and
hi-fidelity design feedback sessions, and interviewing.

Continually educate the larger product team on user study findings, and
feed data and recommendations back into the design and development of
the product.


QUALIFICATIONS:
* A degree in Psychology, HCI, Human Factors, Industrial
Engineering, plus 3-5 years of usability software industry
experience.
* Previous experience working with "collaboration and
communications" products, and/or Enterprise-level applications is
desirable.
* Knowledge of various user research methodologies, especially
field research work, and survey creation and analysis, is required.
* Ability to design and conduct industry standard benchmarking
studies, and define metrics for continued product improvement would
be very useful.
