Hillcrest Labs is seeking an individual to contribute to the development of a sophisticated consumer electronics product that introduces a new paradigm for the navigation of multimedia content. This person will contribute to the development of new features and applications. The system uses a combination of graphic layout tools as well as JavaScript to specify the user interface, so experience with tools such as Macromedia Flash and ActionScript is a must.
Responsibilities
· As a member of the User Experience team, work closely with interaction designers, graphics designers and framework software developers to create interactive applications for TV and other entertainment platforms.
· Turn static screens created by the graphics design team into interactive screens through use of object-oriented practices and JavaScript.
Job Requirements
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, graphic design with emphasis on digital design, or related field.
· Minimum 2 years experience with JavaScript, Macromedia Flash, and ActionScript
· Familiarity with object-oriented design and programming techniques
· Mature, self-motivated and able to work well in a group environment
Desirable Qualifications
· Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and other graphics editors
· Experience with DHTML, CSS, and the like
· Skilled in object-oriented design techniques (e.g. Design Patterns)
· Technical leadership or management experience
Additional skill sets
· Experience with Java, C++, .NET, or comparable OOP language
