As a Business Systems Analyst you will:
* Define new functionality for accounting software used by nonprofit organizations
* Work with Product Strategy/Management to understand project scope, project goals, product functionality, and desired features
* Research client needs and translate business process into software requirements
* Communicate software solution needs to programmers and other employees through appropriate design deliverables
* Design software solutions that are easy to use for a wide range of end users and help verify that the final product meets clients' needs
* Collaborate with development team to scope, design, and build software that meets client needs
* Resolve issues quickly and effectively throughout the software development process
* Partner with Program Management to make trade-offs among features, implementation time, and resource availability
* Brainstorm with other team members to create excellent software solutions within scope and budget limitations
* Evaluate client issues and determine appropriate solutions
Blackbaud will only consider candidates who have:
* Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to pay close attention to details
* Ability to begin producing results quickly
* Ability to adapt to new situations quickly
* Experience using MS Windows, MS Office, Visio
* Ability to write use cases and requirements effectively
* 2-4 years experience with Windows-based software design
* Experience with designing web based applications
Additional Desired Skills:
* Conceptual knowledge of Unified Modeling Language (UML), data modeling and database design
* Experience creating commercial, off-the-shelf software
